(Dilí) Becora 04-04-2026– Easter is the most important feast for Christians, because it celebrates the victory of Jesus Christ’s death and new hope for all people.
Celebrant Bekora Parish Priest Bernardo Paiwa in his homily, said Easter is a symbol of new life, which shows the victory of Jesus Christ over death. as the son of God, he did not remain in death, but was raised to life and received glory at the throne of God the Father.
“Easter teaches us to follow the way of Jesus, do what is right and defend justice. We Christians must show our faith not only in words, but also in daily actions,” said Bekora Parish Priest Celebrant Bernardo Paiwa in his homily Saturday night alleluia, Bekora.
He said the sacrament of the Eucharist is very important for Christians, because from it they get spiritual strength to continue living according to Christ’s teachings.
On the other hand Geovania Correia Baptista said, happy with the celebration of Easter this year with preparations for the feast going well and helping the community to get closer to the church.
“I am very happy to be able to celebrate Easter with the community. This holiday gives peace and happiness to all of us,” said Geovania.
He also gave a message to the community to continue to strengthen peace and unity in Timor-Leste, especially at important times such as Easter.
This year’s Easter celebration in Dili is not only a religious ceremony, but also an important moment to strengthen faith, hope and love among Christians.
