Climate Affairs Ambassador: “We Must Take Action to Combat Climate Change”

(Dili) UN camp Kaikoli- According to Special Envoy / Itinerant Ambassador for Climate Affairs Adão Soares Barboza said, The objective of this meeting is to hear the intervention of the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Antonio Guterres about the real action that the world must take to combat climate change.

“The action that today the UN Secretary General explained to the world is in the area of mitigation so that the world can achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement,” said Abrão to journalists at the UN Camp in Dili, 24-06-2025.

He said, the world must achieve and limit the temperature can not exceed 1.5 degrees Celsius that his intention to reach 20.50 degrees Celsius to have neutrality and focus on the discussion of elements of their critics.

“The Secretary General announced to the world that the use of renewable energy is a tool to reduce global renewable energy,” he said.

He informed, Timor-Leste and the United Nations (UN) in Timor can discuss the actions that Timor Leste has taken and the difficulties that the country faces so as to participate in the global commitment to renewable energy.
