Dili, Colmera, 13/05/2026 – The Human Capital Development Fund (FDCH) continues to demonstrate it’s commitment to invest in the future of Timor-Leste’s youth through scholarship opportunities for students at home and abroad. This initiative aims to prepare skilled and qualified human resources to contribute to the development of the country.
FDCH Executive Director, Julio Apariçio, said that FDCH has a very important role to respond to the needs and challenges in society, especially in the area of education and human resource development.
“FDCH is very important because it has a vision to help respond to the needs and challenges in society through the promotion of human rights, justice and support to communities, especially students who want to continue their studies,” said Julio Apariçio to DMTT trainee journalists in the FDCH visit room, Thursday (07/05/26).
The Executive Director added that FDCH continues to prepare and develop human resources that can strengthen the state and the nation in all areas. To date, more than 7,000 scholarship students have completed their studies from Diploma III to Doctorate.
“Every year we continue to select students who have the capacity and high value to continue their studies abroad,” he said.
Julio also revealed that students who have the opportunity to study abroad, when they finish their studies will return to Timor-Leste to contribute with the special knowledge and skills they have learned.
“We want to produce qualified and professional human resources to help the development of the country,” said Julio.
Countries that will receive Timor-Leste students include New Zealand, Cambodia and other countries. However, he admitted that there will be challenges because the capacity of some students is not sufficient to compete at the international level.
Therefore, Julio encouraged students to continue their efforts and commit themselves to study, especially in important areas such as mathematics and other sciences. He also appealed to parents to continue to support and motivate their children to study seriously.
“The scholarships that FDCH offers are not only in the country, but also abroad. This is to prepare our country with human resources that are wise and qualified,” concluded Julio Apariçio.
